When is the marine stinger season in Australia?
Tropical areas in Australia offer some of the most idyllic and also famous swimming, snorkelling and diving areas in the world, however over the warmer months (October through to April) the presence of marine stingers may require some caution. Box jellyfish and Irukandji jellyfish usually do not exist in the waters found around the outer Great Barrier Reef however caution is still recommended and most tour operators and most dive shops will provide, hire or sell stinger suits, which provide excellent protection against mariner stingers.
